About Us

Who are We?

“We’re just two lost souls swimming in a (different) fishbowl year after year.”

It was a serendipitous series of events that brought us together. And there we were, at a bar in Bangalore, with a pitcher of beer and a bank of endless tales of travel and trips. What was arguably a blind date transformed into a warm friendship and affection as we bonded over stories of every misadventure and long gone college days. It only took us a while to realize that there was a mutual longing to explore new places and experience different cultures and cuisines. It didn’t seem to matter whether they would be on the list of adventures or misadventures.

We began escaping to landscapes during the monsoon of 2018 and have been to several states and cities since. It has been quite a journey of getting lost together in different destinations. This is what has brought us closer and bound us tighter ever since we’ve started trotting together.

After a few months of meticulously squeezing in our appetite for travel, it was on one late-night phone call when our sweet nothings turned into a yearning to find space to share our stories. Escape to Landscapes is our reservoir of tales from the road trails, of remapping hundreds of miles through words and pictures this time.

Ashish

A software development engineer who has a keen eye for scenic views and breathtaking locations. Ashish has been an enthusiastic backpacker and wanderer since the early days of his college. He is the photographer amongst the two, and arguably a #teampixel snob.

Prakriti

An academician with a flair of writing. Prakriti enjoys the idea of figuring out life as it comes her way. She is the author of most of the articles and pieces on the blog and loves to collect memories in polaroids and postcards. One can mostly spot her directing strangers to click perfect polaroid pictures for her.

The two of us are a synthesis of choreographing budget travel with flavourful taste buds to guide through the expeditions. We mostly find ourselves halting in the middle of the roads to capture the beauty of nature, even if it means sitting amidst a bed of fallen flowers. We do have a weakness for luxury stays and infinity pools. And chasing sunsets is probably our idea of fun. We wouldn’t call ourselves the archetypal travel bloggers. Perhaps ‘storytellers’ is better suited, only that the landscapes weave stories in our lives; and we are just two individuals to spread those yarns in front of you.
